10-Nov-2021 | Source : The Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) | Visits : 2620

ISTANBUL - The Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) organization's (org's) Global Stakeholder Engagement (GSE) Africa team published a survey. Its goal is to solicit community input on ICANN's engagement efforts in Africa during the period between 1 July 2016 and 30 June 2021. This, in turn, will help us review and realign the implementation of the ICANN Africa Regional Plan for Fiscal Years (FY) 2021-2025 by identifying the activities that are of most interest to the different stakeholders in the region, as well as establish priorities for next steps, a press release by ICANN stated.

The survey intends to:

1. Help ICANN understand where community engagement is strongest in Africa
2. Evaluate ICANN's and the African Internet Ecosystem's activities, and the extent to which they can be leveraged to improve ICANN's effectiveness regionally
3. Assist ICANN in prioritizing initiatives that will improve its effectiveness in the region in Fiscal Year 2023 and onwards

The survey is available in English and French.

The survey results will be shared with the ICANN community, and additional opportunities will be made available to comment before any actions are formalized and implemented.

The survey is open until 10 December 2021.
