NEW YORK CITY, USA - HE Dr. Talal Abu-Ghazaleh was selected the Chairman of the Honorary Council of the Consortium for Sustainable Urbanization (CSU) headquartered at New York University.
 
The Consortium for Sustainable Urbanization is a non-profit organization formed to promote a better understanding of the role of sustainable urbanization and resilient design in the planning of our cities with a new found optimism about the urban future. 
 
The Consortium is committed to bringing together the different stakeholders for conferences and exchanges of innovative policies and best practices applicable to both developing and developed regions of the world.  Its Board of Directors recently established an Honorary Council. 
 
In a thank you letter submitted to Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh, Dr. Aliye P. Celik, President of the Council, expressed her appreciation to Abu-Ghazaleh for accepting the position of the Chairman of the Honorary Council of the CSU considering this a strength to the Consortium due to what Abu-Ghazaleh represents and his role in the smart transformation on a global level. 
 
“As you are aware, we are the nonprofit organization dedicated to the cause of sustainable urbanization that engages international, national, and local stakeholders including diplomats, architects, designers, urban planners, engineers, scientists, digital information specialists, and economists in well planned and well organized policy debates and programs on the solutions to the challenges of cities around the world.
 
“We at the Consortium are in the process of inviting members, mainly speakers who contributed to our work by speaking in your events or who have sponsored us in the past. We are familiar with your work and we are honored that you have agreed to help us reach to other individuals who might contribute to our work."
According to Abu-Ghazaleh, the Network aims at combating climate change, selecting the appropriate tools and mechanisms to preserve the purity of air, providing more secure and healthy urbanized areas for people of the globe.
