New Draft Company Law in Qatar

DOHA - In the context of Qatar’s efforts to facilitate the procedures for setting up businesses in Qatar and increasing foreign investments in the country, the Ministry of Business and Trade has prepared a new draft company law to create the legal framework that supports development in Qatar.

A press release by Abu-Ghazaleh Intellectual Property, the proposed law meets the requirements of political, economic and social changes in accordance with Qatar National Vision 2030. It also takes into consideration the modern developments and leaps in businesses.

HE Sheikh Jassim bin Abdul-Aziz Al Thani, Minister of Business and Trade, gave directives to a high-level legal committee to prepare the draft law in cooperation with experts from other related institutions. The committee was composed of members from the Ministry of Business and Trade, Ministry of Economy and Finance, Ministry of Justice and Qatar Central Bank.

The company draft law was published on the Ministry’s website to gather comments and feedback from concerned parties.
