By Yazan Qandour

AMMAN - Jordanian Prime Minister, Eng. Nader Al Dahabi, issued on November 18, 2009 a ministerial resolution that was ratified on December 1, 2009.

The resolution amends the official fees and prices for transactions pertaining to trademarks, whether they are registration, opposition, or all legal procedures thereto, increasing upon the old fees substantially.

The new fees have soared in some instances, increasing in a range of 100% to 1000% in some instances from their previous figures.

The amendments have assumed effect from the date of their ratification, and shall replace the old fees immediately.
