Qualcomm and Wingtech Sign Pat

SAN DIEGO, CA - Qualcomm Incorporated and Jiaxing Wingtech Communication Technology Co. Ltd. announced that they have entered into a subscriber unit and module/modem card (including PCB assemblies) patent license agreement.

According to a press release by Qualcomm, under the terms of the royalty bearing agreement, Qualcomm has granted Wingtech a worldwide patent license to develop, manufacture and sell subscriber units, modules and modem cards (including PCB assemblies) implementing the CDMA2000 standard.

The royalties payable by Wingtech are at Qualcomm's standard worldwide rates.

“Qualcomm is pleased to welcome another licensee as part of the fast growing China ecosystem for CDMA2000 subscriber devices,” Executive Vice President and President of Qualcomm Technology Licensing Derek Aberle said.

“Wingtech, a leading Chinese mobile company, will contribute to the growth of the global wireless market by developing, manufacturing and selling 3G CDMA handsets and module/modem cards,” he added.

Qualcomm Incorporated is a leader in developing and delivering innovative digital wireless communications products and services based on CDMA and other advanced technologies.
