PD-LD Announces Licensure Agreement for VBG Technology Portfolio

PENNINGTON, NJ - PD-LD Inc., the worldwide leader in Volume Bragg Grating (VBG) technology, announced a licensing agreement with Ondax Inc. of Monrovia CA, a press release by the company stated.

The agreement provides Ondax with the licensing rights to use PD-LD’s VBG technology in Ondax manufactured photonic elements and technologies.

It also allows Ondax to pass on sub-licensing rights to its customers to use Ondax’s products in subsequent applications in systems and instrumentation.

“We’re pleased to announce this licensing arrangement and are excited that it enables an even broader array of customers the ability to apply our revolutionary VBG technology to their products and future research and development,” PD-LD President and CEO Dr. Vladimir Ban said.

“We also look forward to partnering with additional producers in the industry, as well as those interested in entering the field, to use this cutting-edge technology,” he added.

PD-LD will retain the ownership rights to its continually expanding VBG technology patent portfolio, which has been utilized in multiple industrial and consumer applications, ranging from laser displays to weather satellites, aircraft systems, Raman spectroscopy, detection, filtering and homeland security monitoring.

As part of its business strategy, PD-LD plans to advance its own VGB research and development to grow its patent portfolio. In fact, it has more than 20 patents pending and will be announcing some recently approved patents within the next several weeks.
