DOHA - The Director of the Regional Office and Goodwill Ambassador of the Intergovernmental Institution for the use of Micro-algae Spirulina against Malnutrition (IIMSAM), a Permanent Observer to the United Nations Economic and Social Council, Dr. Naseer Shahir Homoud has been honored with the prestigious ‘Man of the Year' Award for Business and Humanitarian Endeavours- 2008’ of the Jordan.

He was felicitated recently in a glittering ceremony organized at Jerusalem International Hotel in Amman amongst packed auditorium with prominent personalities, intellectuals, scribes and his well- wishers among others.

Dr. Homoud is an eminent personality of the Jordan being known across the world for his humanitarian activities. Dr. Homoud runs a group of business houses in his capacity as Chief Executive Officer, President and Managing Director in the Middle East. His long involvement in humanitarian activities has earned much appreciation in his native country Jordan.

The prominent business man is being regarded as one of the pioneers in bringing investments in Jordan with his sound connections with a number of corporate houses and businessmen of Gulf countries.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Homoud pledged to initiate a number of humanitarian projects in Jordan and other part of the world. He called upon peoples of all walks of life to come forward with the noble service.

Dr. Homoud praised a lot about the late King Hussein for his noble works and giving matchless modules for humanitarian activities. He said "it was late King Hussein’s encouragement which I got for a social service and this was the turning point in my life. Since that time, I always get encouraged to do for the community."

He further conveyed his sincere thanks to the His Majesty the King Abdulla for making business-friendly atmosphere and regulations in the country. He also said "His Majesty’s comprehensive vision about the Jordan will sure give strength to the nation and business community as well."
